The year 2024 is coming and I wanted to add something new to my home and something new to the bathroom. I looked through TOTO, Duravit, Hansgrohe, and Kohler, but couldn’t find the novelty I was looking for.
While searching for mirrors, I found a smart mirror that I could DIY myself. So I decisively contacted the salesperson and under his guidance, we worked with the designers to design a smart mirror as a New Year’s gift in 2024.

I can imagine the joy on my family’s faces when they walk into the bathroom and exclaim “AMAZING!” this gift not only reflects their image but also the thoughtfulness and creativity that went into each carefully selected feature.
1. Evaluation and selection of supplier
I spent a week browsing various websites (like TOTO, Duravit, Hansgrohe, and Kohler), Amazon, Alibaba, etc… After all the comparisons and contrasts, I finally chose to make a smart mirror， and a factory that has been established for nearly ten years. When choosing a supplier, you have to see whether they have rich export experience and a Certificate of Compliance,
And secondly, you have to see whether their team is professional and whether they have specialized personnel to follow up. Of course, if you want to DIY, you should also check whether the supplier supports customized service.
For the material, I chose the best copper-free silver mirror on the market, and to keep it safe, the mirror is covered with blast-proof film on both sides.
Why did I choose this factory to make a smart mirror?
Because the mirror is a lighted mirror with LED strips, when I turn it on, my whole bathroom will be very cozy. It is a 5mm HD copper-free silver mirror, which will not oxidize in 5 years. I chose this supplier, not only the price is satisfactory, but also I can DIY in every aspect!
2. Size
After confirming the supplier, they arranged for a professional designer and salesperson to communicate with me further. The first step of a DIY smart mirror is to choose the size first. I provided the dimensions of my bathroom, as well as pictures. If you want the mirror to fit properly in your bathroom, you need to examine the whole bathroom environment.
My bathroom is large and has a minimalist, modern design. The professional designer recommended the large-size smart mirror for me. And the designer also told me exactly where to install it because I have to reserve power for it.
3. Shape
The next step is to choose a shape. He has many shapes to choose from rectangular, square, round, oval, and even teardrop. But I have a big bathroom and putting some irregular shapes is not very suitable and it also affects the aesthetics, so I chose the rectangle smart mirror.
4. Optional Function
And finally, it came to the most crucial step, setting up the features.
First I chose a touchable electronic screen. He can display the time, date, temperature, and humidity. Because I want to take a shower and look at the mirror, which requires a quick defogging when the mirror is filled with water mist, I equipped the Smart mirror with a defogging function.
Smart mirror as a 2024 New Year gift, I equipped it with Three-Color temperature adjustable and Brightness dimming, which allows me to achieve light changes from 0% to 100%, from white to warm color.
My husband and kids love to sing in the shower, so I added the Bluetooth music display feature to the bathroom mirror. Connecting to your phone’s Bluetooth allows you to play their favorite songs.
5. Frame and Housing Materials
Frames can be categorized into wood frames and aluminum frames. Aluminum alloy frames can be further divided into black, gold, and rose gold in terms of color.
If you like, you can choose a frame that suits your style to enhance the visual attractiveness of smart mirrors. But I didn`t add it, because I don`t like metal Frames.
